Summer Student Life Assistant

The Summer Student Life Assistant is a wide-ranging summer position that helps on a variety of Student Life projects and programs: new student orientation, summer camps, conferences, campus housing. Dates of employment are May 12 – Aug. 13, 2025. These student positions are part-time with an average of 15-20 hours per week; work will not exceed 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Work during summer Golden Bear Registration Days
    • Welcome and engage with new students
    • Help new students with class registration and access to WVU Portal, promote the University, and provide a positive registration and summer orientation experience
  • Assist with daily needs of camps and conferences
  • Complete room checks before/after departure of camps
  • Key management and Facilities management
  • On call rotation 24/7 for emergency needs, lock-outs, and other concerns
  • Assist with housing projects and housing needs
  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Good academic standing, with a preferred GPA of a 2.5 or above
  • Good judicial standing with no outstanding judicial sanctions
  • Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, responsible, confident, and flexible
  • Demonstrate the ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of camps as well as WVU Tech staff and faculty.

Compensation:
