Campus Carry & Storage Info
Campus Carry and Gun Storage Information
Individuals with a valid license to carry a concealed deadly weapon are able to carry a concealed weapon into common spaces in the residence halls, like lobbies. Weapons are not permitted in residence hall rooms.
West Virginia University Institute of Technology students with a valid license to carry a concealed deadly weapon may reserve space in a secure gun locker to house their pistol or revolver, as required by the Campus Self Defense Act. The gun locker is available in University Hall.
Students with a housing assignment can review procedures and reserve a gun locker at any time by visiting https://myhousing.wvu.edu. Once logged in, click the Campus Carry link in the menu at the top. Once a request is submitted, Residence Life staff will email the student with an assigned locker number and procedures. Please note a $140 per semester locker rental fee will be applied to the student account when the request is submitted. This is a non-refundable.
The WVU Tech Counseling Center and WVU Tech Police offer a variety of safety-related resources and information.
