How to Apply for Housing

You must be an admitted student of WVU Tech before you can apply for housing.

  1. If you have not yet activated your WVU account, go to login.wvu.edu  and follow the instructions to activate your WVUD. (This will become your username and password to log into all WVU systems.)
  2. Complete the 2026-2027 academic year housing application. This contract is for the fall 2026 semester and spring 2027 semester.
  3. Pay the $225 housing advanced payment in the application and finish all sections of the application. Remember, this payment will be credited to your Fall 2026 tuition bill.
  4. Housing Selection Timeline and Important Dates
    1. Feb. 16: Housing application opens for all students
    2. Feb. 16 - March 1: Returning students may submit a homestead housing application. Completed homestead applications with payment allow the returning student to stay in the exact same room next academic year
    3. March 2 - June 30: All students may select their housing assignment through the housing application
    4. Starting July 1: Applications submitted starting on this date and all applications without a housing assignment will be administratively assigned a housing assignment. Assignments will be based on answers on the housing application.
  5. If you decide not to attend WVU Tech and need to cancel your housing application, please email Student Life at techstudentlife@mail.wvu.edu . If you cancel your housing application after July 1, your advanced payment is forfeited.
