Availability and Eligibility

Welcome to summer term at West Virginia University Institute of Technology! Housing is provided for students enrolled in WVU Tech classes/seminars and University related internships for credit. Proof of student status or other University affiliation is required. Students are permitted to reside the designated Summer Housing Residence Hall only while their classes are in session. They are not permitted to remain in University housing when not registered or when classes have ended. 

There are limited spaces available for summer school housing. Students may apply for housing online. Confirmation of your reservation will be sent to your MIX account, and this will serve as your housing contract. Your specific room assignment will be provided when you check in. The last day to cancel the housing contract is the day BEFORE your summer classes are scheduled to begin.

International Students 

Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, we understand some of our international students may not be able to return to their home countries; this summer, International Students needing to stay in the residence halls will be able to apply for summer housing at the rates below. A member of the housing team will reach out to you once your application has been approved or denied. 

Session Dates

Sunday, May 16 – Move into the halls  
Monday, May 17 – First day of classes and registration  
Monday, May 31 – Memorial Day Recess: University Closed  
Monday, July 5 – Independence Day Recess: University Closed 
Friday, August 6 – Vacate assigned space by 4:00 p.m., final day of summer classes

Students must provide their own sheets, pillows, blankets and towels. Students are responsible for the care and cleaning of the rooms. Rooms must be returned to their original condition when vacated. Any damages beyond normal wear and tear will be charged to the student. Additionally, student will be charged for non-returned keys.
